Fiona Apple is at it again. After the "Criminal" singer made headlines in 1999 with the ridiculously long title of her sophomore record, she's decided on another whopper for her 4th:

"The Idler Wheel Is Wiser Than The Driver Of The Screw, And Whipping Cords Will Serve You More Than Ropes Will Ever Do."

While it's a cumbersome title, to be sure, it's still not quite as bad as:

"When the pawn hits the conflicts he thinks like a king/What he knows throws the blows when he goes to the fight/And he'll win the whole thing 'fore he enters the ring/There's no body to batter when your mind is your might/So when you go solo, you hold your own hand/And remember that depth is the greatest of heights/And if you know where you stand, then you know where to land/And if you fall it won't matter, cause you'll know that you're right."

Apple was the butt of constant jokes in 1999 for that title, with at least one reviewer (Spin Magazine) reprinting the entire title in its review before jokingly "running out of space" and not reviewing it at all. Rolling Stone titled the album ""When the Pawn Hits the Conflicts He Thinks Oh the Hell With It" in their review, while most everyone else just decided to shorten it to "When The Pawn…", much to Apple's consternation.

"The Idler Wheel…" is due out later this year. Apple is also about to embark on a short tour of the East Coast.
