Alt-rock Renaissance-Man Henry Rollins is plotting another in a long string of spoken-word tours. This time around, the former Black Flag front-man is taking his unique brand of not-quite-comedy, not-quite-lecture to clubs across Europe before landing in the US. With just a handful of scheduled days off over the 3 month long outing, Rollins had dubbed the tour "The Long March".

The prolific singer, author, activist and raconteur is ostensibly promoting his new book, "Occupy", a collection of candid photos that Rollins has taken over the last few years during visits to places like Bangladesh, Burma, Cambodia, India and Northern Ireland. Paired with essays touching on the sad political realities of our world, the book aims to be "a visual testimony of anger, suffering, and resilience that will help its readers realize what is so easy to miss when tragedy and terror become numbing, constant forces—the quieter, stronger forces of healing, solidarity, faith and even joy."

While it doesn't take much to get the workaholic Rollins up on stage, fans have declared his recent spoken-word shows among the best of his career. Rollins began performing spoken-word shows during his early-80's tenure with Black Flag. Since that time, he has maintained a successful publishing company, 2.13.61, releasing books not just by Rollins himself, but also works from such critically-respected authors as Hubert Selby and Michael Gira. He also hosts a weekly radio show on Los Angeles station KCRW.

In other Henry Rollins news, the singer is apparently heading off for a relaxing tour of…Cuba. This quote comes from his website, where he maintains a weekly "dispatch" for fans and well-wishers.

"I am heading to Cuba in a couple of days. I found a company that will take you to the Bay Of Pigs. It’s just some beachfront, I know, but I have never met anyone who has walked along it and I want to get that done, so I am going. I don’t know what communications will be like from there, so I could very well be off the grid for some time. I will be back when I am able."

This should make for some interesting talking-show material, so get your tickets while you can, folks.
