Anyone paying a visit to the official websites of hard rock bands KISS or Motley Crue this week will notice a ticker across the top of both homepages. At press time, there remained a little over two days until the zero hour, at which time both bands are expected to announce details of an already widely-reported summer tour.
“It’s going to be really cool because KISS is bringing their full stage show, and Motley will be bringing our full stage show," said Motley Crue singer Vince Neil. "So, you are going to see two huge headliners at the same time. It’s going to be one of the biggest tours of the summer, if not the biggest.”
Of course, it wouldn't be a KISS news item without twenty or thirty other merchandizing tidbits. To that end, the band held a press conference the other day to celebrate the grand opening of "KISS By Monster Mini Golf", their new Las Vegas entertainment destination. In addition to mini golf, the site will also feature an arcade, a "Hotter Than Hell" wedding chapel and what is being described as the largest KISS gift shop in the world.
"It's great to hit a ball through a windmill, but wouldn't you rather hit it through one of my boots, especially with the black lights and everything glowing? It's very, very cool," said KISS singer/guitarist Paul Stanley.
"I also get a hole-in-one," KISS bassist/vocalist Gene Simmons said, to the surprise of absolutely no one.
"The KISS brand just keeps getting bigger and bigger around the world," said Live Nation CEO Dell Furano. "Kiss Monster Mini Golf will be a favorite for the Kiss Army legion of loyal fans as well as new KISS fans."
