Madonna kicked off a fresh round of "MDNA" publicity this week by sitting down with Late Night host Jimmy Fallon for a Facebook chat. The interview included questions sent in by fans from all corners of the world. When asked why her new album features younger talents like M.I.A and Nicki Minaj, the 50-something Madonna was adamant that the guest spots weren't about trying to remain relevant in a changing world.
"Because they’re bad-ass bitches, long story short," she said. "I think they’re both smart, clever, they have strength. They don’t just play on their sexuality or being cute. They’re not ingenues. They’re tough girls and they’re smart. I wouldn't mess with them."
When asked if fans can expect a stage show like the controversial performance she gave at this year's Super Bowl, Madonna was typically curt.
"I don't want to repeat myself. I did that already," she said.
Madonna also took the opportunity to announce a whirlwind world tour in support of "MDNA." Though a few dates have already been announced, the full scope of the tour was unknown until now. For those keeping score at home, the "Plains of Abraham" show is still scheduled for August 30, despite the numerous protests we told you about last week.
