The Fab Four are on their way back to a theater near you. Though they broke up over 40 years ago, a recently unearthed concert recorded just two days after their historic first appearance on The Ed Sullivan show will be screened across the country as part of a documentary called "The Beatles: The Lost Concert."

Recorded at Washington Coliseum in February 1964, the group played for an audience of 9,000, their largest crowd ever at that point. It was also the band's first full-length concert in the United States. Initially thought to be lost, the concert footage was found last year and digitally remastered. The documentary features interviews with Steven Tyler, The Strokes, Chuck Berry and the surviving Beatles, and attempts to chronicle the rise of "Beatlemania" in an entirely new way.

"Through rare archival footage and new interviews with some of the people who were there, and chock full of memorabilia, archival footage and artifacts it details how The Beatles were first brought to America, their struggle to get a U.S. record contract and airplay, how their first concert was booked and all the incredible events of that historic day in February when the Fab Four took a train from New York to Washington, D.C. to perform a full concert in front of an American audience for the first time," says the official press release.

The film’s world premiere will be held at New York’s Ziegfeld Theater on May 6, and will be in 450 theaters nationwide on May 17 and 22, including several in Illinois. Visit any of the theaters below to purchase advance tickets. Something tells us this is gonna be a sellout.
