For an entire generation of fans, Gwen Stefani has been more notable as a solo artist (and fashion designer) than as a member of seminal California ska-punk band No doubt. If things go according to plan, however, that will soon change.

According to a post on the 90s ska-revivalist's web site, the group are planning to release an album of new material, their first since 2004, in September.

"We are incredibly excited to share the new music with you. Ear candy coming your way," reads the post. "Thank you all so much for your support over the last 25 years. We're really proud of our new album and we hope you love it as much as we do."

Recording sessions began as Stefani finished promotional duties surrounding her sophomore solo effort "The Sweet Escape", though progress has been slow.

According to a preview of the album heard by Rolling Stone last year, "One More Summer" is a likely contender for the album's lead single.

"[The track] updates the band's ska-pop sound with pounding dance beats, arena-size guitars and a beyond-catchy chorus," said the reporter.
