Mercury Prize-winning indie-pop band The xx are all set to finally release the much-awaited follow-up to their critically-acclaimed debut album.

Coexist, as the sophomore set is titled, will see release on September 11th. Leader Jamie xx has repeatedly said that "Club music has definitely had an influence", and if the new tracks performed live so far are any indication, that diagnosis is spot on.

"After a long time on the road, we took a break, created our own studio, and wrote these new songs that we're so looking forward to playing to you," reads a statement on the group's Facebook page. "We will be touring throughout the summer and beyond, and hope to play somewhere near you soon."

So far, the group have only announced a handful of US dates, but sources tell us that we can expect a full-scale North American jaunt later in the Fall.
