R&B/pop songstress Rihanna headed to SNL this week for the first of what’s sure to be dozens of cringe-worthy promotional appearances undertaken for her soon-to-be-released 8th album, Unapologetic. To say the performance was odd would be putting it mildly: the singer ran through a (mostly) lip synced performance of lead single Diamonds behind a green screen (and green floor?) chock full of graphics seemingly lifted from a low-budget promotional video for the Mediterranean travel industry. You’ve really gotta see this one to believe it:
